Once Again

I posted this song a year ago or so. And was thinking about it again today. So im gonna post it again. I think its still one of the greatest christian songs to date. And it has the flow to it that no other song has. I enjoy this video as well. Enjoy.

Gunn, this is not some "oh i guess this is as good as christian music gets" sort of thing. This song is good even if it was about alcohol. The fact that its about God makes it insanely rad. Take another listen, but this time, pretend you arent judgemental.

dude, I think most modern christian music sucks. But I do support the messagge being put out. I am not a rebellious punk. I was making a minor joke about contemporary christian music. I also think hymns are alot better than most music today.

I know that whatever the song is written about doesn't change how good the song is.

I think most christian worship is ok. I think the stuff that sucks is the stuff that is trying to be alternative rock and christian at the same time, that isnt meant for worship. But the actual worship music if its done well i prefer over hymns anyday. here is why. Hymns while classic, are boring. Most of them are a melody in which it goes all over the scales like a solo, and the piano just follows. its like a duet of piano and vocals with no harmonies unless you make your own. (which people do all the time because the music gets old if you dont). Most hymns could be good, but arent because of how they are arranged. They are only played in church with a piano exclusively at most churches who still play hymns. If you add some drums, guitars, and a bass, it all of a sudden can bring that hymn to life. It becomes a song with parts and flourishes. They can even be rearranged like "grace like rain" which was a rendition of amazing grace, which in my opinion is better than the original. I dont think hymns are any better or worse than music today. they are just the same. they are notes and melodies that can be played as 3 chord songs on a guitar if transposed. Its all in the presentation. you could take some sappy worship song, and play it out on the piano and make it sound just like a hymn and call it "great" but its not any different than all the rest. The only thing that makes some of modern worship cheesey is the same thing that makes some hymns that way, stupid lyrics, and gay melodies, like dare to be a daniel.
